Upcoming election must be held based on July Charter: Jatiya Ganatantrik Party
“Conducting polls without it will betray the blood of martyrs. Bangladesh should not bow before external pressures,” he said while addressing a short rally at the National Press Club.

The upcoming national election must be held under the legal framework of the July Charter, Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (Jagpa) Vice-President and Spokesperson Rashed Pradhan said today (18 September).
"Conducting polls without it will betray the blood of martyrs. Bangladesh should not bow before external pressures," he said while addressing a short rally at the National Press Club.
The protest rally, which started from Bijoynagar Water Tank and concluded at the Press Club area via Paltan intersection, was organised to press home their 7-point demand.
Calling for a level playing field and elections free from Indian influence, Rashed said, "Awami League, Jatiyo Party, and the 14-party alliance have no right to engage in politics on Bangladeshi soil."
He urged that the 14-party alliance should be banned, and national elections should be held through the PR system to prevent new forms of authoritarianism and fascism.
The Jagpa leader also questioned why hilsa fish is exported to India at lower prices, why 900 acres gifted to Adani have not been reclaimed, and why Indian conspiracies in Bangladesh continue.
He also called on the interim government to take strong diplomatic action to bring the "fascist killer" Hasina back from Delhi for trial and to publicly annul all secret agreements between Sheikh Hasina and India.
Today, seven Islamic parties — including Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Andolan Bangladesh, and Khelafat Majlis — staged separate processions and rallies across Dhaka, reiterating common demands such as implementing the July Charter, introducing the PR system, and ensuring a level playing field for a free, fair, and acceptable election.
