Those who didn't commit crimes won't face punishment: Fakhrul to Awami League activists
“Our Hasina Apa has gone to India. It is good that she has gone there. But why did she leave the supporters and activists of this area in danger?" he said at a rally in Thakurgaon.
No punishment would be allowed for those who have not committed any wrongdoing, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said today (23 January), referring to supporters and activists of the Awami League.
"Our Hasina Apa has gone to India. It is good that she has gone there. But why did she leave the supporters and activists of this area in danger? We want to tell the supporters and activists -- you will not face any trouble. We are standing by you," he said at an election rally at Sholtihari Bazar in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila this afternoon, reports Prothom Alo.
"Those who have committed wrongdoing will be punished, but those who have not done anything wrong will not be punished."
Fakhrul, BNP's candidate for the Thakurgaon-1 constituency, also said, "Were you able to vote over the last 15 years? You could not. Votes were cast the night before. Now an opportunity has come."
The BNP leader urged voters to seize the opportunity to exercise their voting rights freely in the upcoming national election.
