NCP’s Hannan Masud holds Tk2,000 in bank account, father holds nearly Tk2 lakh
The information was found in affidavits published on the Election Commission’s website ahead of the 13th parliamentary election.
Abdul Hannan Masud, a candidate of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and the party's senior joint chief coordinator, has declared that he has only Tk2,000 deposited in his bank account, according to affidavits submitted to the Election Commission.
His father, Amirul Islam Md Abdul Malek, has nearly Tk2 lakh deposited in banks and financial institutions, the affidavits show.

Hannan Masud is contesting the Noakhali-6 (Hatiya) constituency. His nomination papers were submitted by his father, who filed the documents as a candidate of the Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP).
In his affidavit, Hannan Masud identified his profession as business and mentioned Alim pass as his highest educational qualification. A prominent figure during the July movement, he also stated that there are no criminal cases against him.
According to the affidavit, his annual income is Tk6 lakh. He declared having Tk35.83 lakh in cash and no land registered in his own name. Including cash, his total movable assets amount to Tk46.85 lakh at acquisition value, of which gold accounts for Tk8 lakh.
The affidavit further stated that neither Hannan Masud nor his family members have any liabilities or bank loans.
In a separate affidavit, his father Amirul Islam Md Abdul Malek listed his profession as a retired teacher and declared that he has deposits of nearly Tk200,000 in banks and financial institutions.
