Jamaat calls for success of 5 Sept Dhaka-Chattogram long march
According to the previously announced programme of the 11-party alliance on 6 August, four long marches will be held across the country.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami today (17 August) has called upon its leaders, activists and people across the country to make Dhaka-Chattogram long march on 5 September a success as part of its campaign to implement the referendum verdict and build a discrimination-free Bangladesh.
The call was made at a meeting of the party's Long March Implementation Committee held at Jamaat's central office in capital's Moghbazar.
As per the programme, the Dhaka-Chattogram long march will be held on Saturday, 5 September, followed by Dhaka-Rangpur on Saturday, 19 September, Dhaka-Khulna on Saturday, 10 October, and Dhaka-Sylhet on Saturday, 24 October.
The Chattogram, Rangpur and Khulna long marches will be held by road, while the Sylhet long march will be held by rail.
A grand rally will be held in Dhaka on 14 November following the completion of the long march programmes.
