NCP Rajshahi district coordinator resigns amid internal conflict
Rashedul said he made the decision in the best interest of the party’s future leadership and the organisation’s growth in Rajshahi

Rashedul Islam, chief coordinator of the Rajshahi district committee of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has submitted his resignation to the party's central committee, citing personal reasons.
"It has been an honour and privilege for me to serve the party under the NCP banner and work for the betterment of the country. However, due to personal reasons, I have come to the decision that I must step down from my role at this time," he wrote in the resignation letter, submitted Thursday night (26 June).
Rashedul said he made the decision in the best interest of the party's future leadership and the organisation's growth in Rajshahi.
When asked about his resignation, Rashedul Islam said, "I have sent the resignation letter to the center. I do not know if it has been accepted yet. However, I am still with NCP. I want the best for NCP. I resigned purely for personal reasons."
His resignation comes amid growing tensions within the district committee.
According to several party leaders, disagreements and distance between the district and metropolitan units have persisted since the formation of the coordination committee on 18 June.
To address the internal conflict, Central Committee Joint Convener Monira Sharmin arrived in Rajshahi yesterday (27 June).
"I have already spoken with everyone. I am trying to resolve the issue. The resignation of the district chief coordinator is still under consideration," she said.
