NCP leaves out Samantha Sharmin from nominations, names 14 other women candidates
From Dhaka, several women leaders of the party have secured nominations, including Senior Joint Member Secretary Tasnim Jara for Dhaka-9, Senior Joint Member Secretary Nahida Sarwar Niva for Dhaka-12, Joint Convenor Tajnuva Zabin for Dhaka-17, and Nabila Tasnid for Dhaka-20.
The National Citizen Party (NCP) has announced its nominees in 125 constituencies for the upcoming national election, but excluded Senior Joint Convener Samantha Sharmin from the preliminary list while naming 14 aspiring women candidates across the country.
The list was revealed by Member Secretary Akhtar Hossen, who is set to contest from Rangpur-4, during a press briefing at the NCP's temporary office in Dhaka's Banglamotor today (10 December).

Outside the capital, the party nominated Monira Sharmin (Naogaon-5), Dilshana Parul (Sirajganj-3), Mahmuda Mitu (Jhalakathi-1), Dyuti Aranya Chowdhury (Sirajganj-4), Tanha Shanta (Mymensingh-11), Syeda Nilima Dola (Faridpur-3), Israt Jahan Bindu (Chandpur-2), Advocate Humayra Noor (Noakhali-5), S Bushra Mishma (Chattogram-10) and Advocate Monjila Jhuma (Khagrachhari).
NCP Convener Nahid Islam will run from Dhaka-11. The party is expected to release more candidates in the coming days.
