NCP alleges fresh attack during Sylhet march; police deny claim
The party claimed two people were injured after a vehicle carrying its leaders was attacked in Jaintiapur, but police insisted no such incident occurred.

The National Citizen Party (NCP) has alleged that its leaders came under attack again during the party's July march in Sylhet, claiming it's Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary and an activist were injured and a vehicle was damaged in Jaintiapur late yesterday night (31 July).
Police, however, rejected the allegation, describing it as "completely false" and saying no such incident had taken place.

Earlier in the day, the NCP held July marches and rallies in Companiganj, Gowainghat and Jaintiapur upazilas of Sylhet. The programmes were attended by Nasiruddin Patwary, NCP Northern Region Chief Organiser Sarjis Alam, and MP and Nari Shakti Central Member Secretary Mahmuda Mitu.
According to the party, the incident occurred while its leaders were returning from the rally in Jaintiapur during heavy rain.
In a Facebook post, Patwary alleged that his convoy came under attack, with assailants smashing the windows of a microbus.
He claimed that he and another person sustained injuries from shattered glass, leaving both with bleeding hands.
The post included a video showing a vehicle with broken windows and a person whose hand appeared to be bleeding.
Jaintiapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mahbubul Alam Molla denied the allegation.
"The allegation of an attack is completely false. Nothing of the sort happened," he told The Business Standard.
The OC said NCP leaders had left Jaintiapur safely after the rally and were escorted by police along the route.
He added that heavy rain was falling at the time and the roads were largely deserted, making the allegation baseless.
