Khaleda Zia's condition unchanged for 3 days now: Doctors
The medical team is doing everything possible, says Khaleda's personal physician
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's physical condition has remained unchanged for the past three days, said Khaleda's personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain.
Speaking to reporters in front of Evercare Hospital around 8:30pm today (29 November), he said, "In medical terms, she is maintaining the treatment – meaning she is able to receive the care her doctors are providing. Please pray for her recovery."
Dr Zahid, also a standing committee member of BNP, added, "The medical team is doing everything possible, and arrangements have been made to ensure she receives the best medical facilities available here. Recovery, however, is in the hands of Allah."
Regarding the possibility of sending Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment, he said the decision depends entirely on her physical fitness and the recommendations of the medical board.
Earlier in the day, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said Khaleda Zia's physical condition is critical, and she is not in a state to be taken abroad for treatment at this moment.
However, he also mentioned that necessary precautions regarding air ambulance and visas for possible countries where she can be taken have been discussed.
Khaleda Zia has long suffered from heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, liver cirrhosis, kidney complications and other ailments.
She was rushed to Evercare Hospital last Sunday after experiencing breathing difficulties.
