Jamaat-e-Islami has urged its members and supporters to take maximum preparation to ensure the success of the upcoming 'National Rally' scheduled to be held on 19 July at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka.

The call came during a preparatory meeting held today (7 July) at the Al-Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar, organised by Jamaat's Dhaka South unit.

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Abdul Halim stressed that the 19 July rally must be implemented with utmost seriousness and organisational strength.

He said the rally aims to press for justice for all acts of genocide, implementation of necessary political reforms, realisation of the 'July Charter' and its declaration, and rehabilitation of the families of those killed or injured during the July uprising.

He also stated that the party would demand national elections under a proportional representation system, voting rights for expatriates, and the establishment of a level playing field for all political parties.

The Jamaat leader called upon the partymen to intensify promotional activities and public outreach efforts, and to mobilise manpower and ordinary citizens from grassroots to district level in order to remain active and prepared in the coming days.
