Jamaat Ameer congratulates 'revolutionaries', says protesters to return home only when AL banned

Protesters will leave the streets only after the Awami League is banned as a political party, Jamaat-e-Islam Ameer Shafiqur Rahman said today (10 May).
"All anti-fascist forces stand united today in demanding a ban on the Awami League as a political party. InshaAllah, the people will return home only after this demand is fulfilled. No political ploy can drive them away from this demand," he said in a Facebook post this evening.
The Jamaat ameer further said, "The iron-clad unity of the protesting masses will not only lead to the banning of the fascist Awami League but also serve as a milestone in building the Bangladesh of tomorrow's aspirations."
"Congratulations to those who have joined this bond of unity today, defying all obstacles…Congratulations, revolutionaries," he said.
