India does not want political stability in our country, says BNP chairperson's adviser
Mushfiqur Rahman further appealed for mutual respect, saying, "We love the people of India, and we wish for them to love our people the same. Let nothing happen that makes us anti-India"

BNP Chairperson's Adviser Mushfiqur Rahman alleged today (4 October) that India does not wish to see development or political stability in Bangladesh.
He made the comments while addressing reporters after a road-rally in the Gopalnagar area of Kasba upazila, Brahmanbaria. The rally was organised by the local BNP unit demanding the implementation of the 31-point demand announced by the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman for repairing the state structure.
They do not want our development; they do not want political stability in our country. If there is no political stability, economic stability will not come
"We, the people of Bangladesh, believe in our sovereignty. We do not want anyone, no matter who they are, to come and meddle in our affairs," he stated.
He continued, "But the unfortunate fact is that we are on the border of a large country [India]. They do not want our development; they do not want political stability in our country. If there is no political stability, economic stability will not come."
Mushfiqur Rahman further appealed for mutual respect, saying, "We love the people of India, and we wish for them to love our people the same. Let nothing happen that makes us anti-India. It is not right for us to be anti-India."

The roadside rally was presided over by Brahmanbaria District BNP Vice President Md Elias. Joint General Secretary Nazmul Huda Khandaker and Organising Secretary Abul Mansur Mission also addressed the meeting as special guests.
Following the rally, Mushfiqur Rahman, along with other party leaders, distributed leaflets containing the 31-point demand among the general public.
