Dhaka-9: Independent candidate Tasnim Jara gets 'football' as electoral symbol
On 10 January, Jara's nomination was declared valid following a hearing on her appeal application at the Election Commission office.

Independent MP candidate Dr Tasnim Jara has been allotted the football as the electoral symbol to contest the 13th national election from the Dhaka-9 constituency.
She collected the symbol from the Dhaka Divisional Office today (21 January).
At the time, Dhaka Divisional Commissioner and Returning Officer Sharfuddin Ahmed Chowdhury formally handed over the letter allocating the symbol to Jara, who recently resigned from the National Citizen Party (NCP).

Speaking after receiving the symbol, she said, "I will contest the election as an independent candidate. Football is our preferred symbol."
Earlier, on 10 January, her nomination was declared valid following a hearing on her appeal at the Election Commission (EC) office in Agargaon, Dhaka.
