Hasina loyalists within admin undermining interim govt, trying to thwart polls: Rizvi
Despite these alleged conspiracies, the BNP leader expressed confidence that such efforts would ultimately fail

Deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina's loyalists remain embedded within the state administration and are actively positioning themselves across various sectors of the bureaucracy with the intent to sabotage the interim government's efforts and prevent a free and fair election, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi alleged today .
"They are prepared to create a premeditated state of unrest and chaos to ensure that Muhammad Yunus [chief adviser of interim govt] cannot conduct a free and fair election," Rizvi said at a BNP event in Brahmanbaria.
Rizvi further alleged that certain leaders and officials in the administration, who were responsible for the bloodshed carried out to keep Sheikh Hasina in power, have been given the green light to streamline a safe exit from the country. "The passport department has already been instructed in this regard," he claimed.
He added, "Those who are accused of crimes or are likely to be held accountable should not receive any such green signal from the administration. This clearly shows that some individuals, still embedded within the system, are working to implement Sheikh Hasina's far-reaching political agenda. They are actively hatching various schemes to that end."
Despite these alleged conspiracies, the BNP leader expressed confidence that such efforts would ultimately fail.
"No matter how many new conspiracies or master plans they try to implement, they will be defeated. Democracy will be restored in the country, a free and fair election will be held, and Bangladesh will be governed as a truly independent nation that upholds its freedom and sovereignty."
Commenting on the legal framework surrounding governance and elections, Rizvi emphasised that while laws can be amended under constitutional provisions, no law can be legitimised outside the authority of the Constitution and an elected Parliament. "Anything outside this framework cannot be considered lawful. To do so would undermine the very spirit of our long struggle for the rule of law. We cannot and will not go beyond the bounds of the Constitution."
During the event, Rizvi was accompanied by Brahmanbaria district BNP President Khaled Hossain Mahbub Shyamal, Senior Vice President Zahirul Haque Khokon, Vice President ABM Mominul Haque, General Secretary Sirajul Islam, and other party leaders and activists.
