BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul has voiced concerns over what he termed "a resurgence of divisive politics and conspiracies to destabilise the nation by turning state institutions against one another".

"Certain infiltrators within the government are attempting to steer Bangladesh in the wrong direction," said the BNP leader in a post on his official Facebook page.

He emphasised that the responsibility of protecting democracy and rebuilding the nation now rests with the BNP.

"That responsibility includes realising the dream envisioned by late President Ziaur Rahman and carried forward by Begum Khaleda Zia. Today, our acting chairman Tarique Rahman is leading the nation with a new vision," he said.

He urged BNP activists at all levels to stay alert and vigilant. "Every member of the BNP must stand firm against all forms of conspiracy and ensure that no one can undermine Bangladesh's independence, sovereignty, or democracy."

Highlighting the party's historical mission, he stated, "The journey to build a prosperous and modern Bangladesh began under the leadership of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. Unfortunately, we could not keep this great leader with us for long."

He also accused forces across the border of plotting to destabilise the country and suppress the rights of the people. "Those who kept Bangladesh under a fascist regime for 15 years are still conspiring to hinder our development."

Recalling the sacrifices of BNP leaders and activists, he said, "Around 60 lakh people have been falsely charged, thousands killed, and nearly 1,700 subjected to enforced disappearance."

He wrote, "Now, a new opportunity has emerged—for us to build a new Bangladesh."
