Chhatra Dal announces full panel for Ducsu polls

The Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has announced its full panel for the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) election.
From the Chhatra Dal panel, Abidul Islam Khan will contest for the position of Vice-President (VP), Sheikh Tanvir Bari Hamim for General Secretary (GS), and Tanvir Al Hadi Mayed for Assistant General Secretary (AGS).
JCD Central President Rakibul Islam Rakib made the announcement today (20 August) in front of the Aparajeyo Bangla sculpture on the Dhaka University campus.
The panel consists of a total of 28 members.
Rakib said that this time, they nominated comparatively younger, regular students who are well-known and accepted among the student community.
He added that the organisation would work in the upcoming Ducsu election with a vision to ensure "democracy, coexistence of multiple views and ideologies, freedom of expression, quality higher education, standard housing and food, student-friendly politics, improved cultural and intellectual practice, and a diverse and safe campus."
Beyond the top three positions, the panel includes Ariful Islam for Liberation War and Democratic Movements Affairs secretary, Ehsanul Islam for Science and Technology Affairs secretary, Chamon Fariya Islam Meghla for Common Room, Library and Cafeteria Affairs secretary, Md Mehedi Hasan for International Affairs secretary, and Abu Hayat Md Zulfiqar Jisan for Literature and Culture Affairs secretary.
Chhatra Dal did not nominate anyone for the post of Research and Publication Affairs secretary in honour of Sanjida Ahmed Tonni, who was injured in the 2024 July Uprising and will contest independently for the position.
Other nominations include Chim Chimya Chakma for the Sports Affairs secretary, Md Saif Ullah (Saif) for Student Transport Affairs secretary, Syed Imam Hasan Anik for Social Welfare secretary, Md Arkanul Islam Rupok for Career Development Affairs secretary, Anwar Hossain for Health and Environment Affairs secretary, and Md Mehedi Hasan Munna for Human Rights and Law Affairs secretary.
For member posts, Chhatra Dal nominated Md Zarif Rahman, Mahmudul Hasan, Nahid Hasan, Md Hasibur Rahman Sakib, Md Shamim Rana, Yasin Arafat Alif, Munim Hasan Arup, Ranjan Roy, Soyaib Islam Omi, Meherunnesa Keya, Ibnu Ahmed, Shamsul Haque Anan, and Nityananda Pal.
