The BNP has expelled a former Swechhasebak Dal leader from all party positions, including his membership, over alleged involvement in inciting violence and engaging in various disruptive and confrontational activities.
The expulsion order was issued in an official letter today (3 May), signed by BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, against Sohel Ahmed Manik, the former president of the Satkhira District Swechhasebak Dal.
Satkhira BNP Convenor Rahmatullah Palash and Member Secretary Abu Zahid Dablu confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
According to the letter, despite holding a responsible leadership position within the district, Manik was accused of instigating riots, misconduct with a schoolteacher, and participating in other conflict-driven actions.
"In light of these allegations, you are hereby expelled from all levels of party responsibilities, including your membership," the letter states.
