Central leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its affiliated organisations paid homage to party founder and former president Ziaur Rahman on his 44th death anniversary at his grave in Dhaka this morning (30 May).

Defying continuous rain, thousands gathered at Ziaur Rahman's mausoleum located at Chandrima Udyan in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area to pay their respect and offer prayers.

The programme began around 10:30am, with senior BNP leaders placing wreaths at the grave.
