BNP adviser Amin withdraws independent candidacy in Cumilla-6, backs BNP nominee
Praising Amin’s decision, the BNP candidate said it was a significant sacrifice for the party.
Amin Ur Rashid Yasin, adviser to BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman, has withdrawn his independent candidacy for Comilla-6 constituency, expressing his intention to work in support of the party's nominated candidate.
The announcement came during a press conference this afternoon (19 January) at Amin's office in the Dhamasagarpara area of Cumilla, where he formally confirmed the withdrawal and pledged his support for BNP candidate Monirul Haque Chowdhury.
Amin said he had recently been summoned to Dhaka by Tarique, who urged him to withdraw his nomination in the interest of party discipline and unity.
"I have decided to follow that call for the greater good of the party," he added.
Praising Amin's decision, Monirul said it was a significant sacrifice for the party.
