The Bangladesh Ganatantrik Chhatra Sansad (Bagchas) held a rally at Dhaka University this afternoon (2 October) to express solidarity with the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was mostly intercepted by Israel.
Titled 'Sumud: Steadfast,' the programme emphasised Palestinians' right to self-determination.
A procession, which started from the Raju Sculpture at the University of Dhaka and concluded at Projonmo Chattar in Shahbagh, preceded the rally.
"Palestine is not just a territory—Palestine is the name of a feeling," said Bagchas Member Secretary Zahid Ahsan.
"Until Palestine is free, we will continue to fight," he added.
Other speakers included Bagchas Office Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman, Dhaka University Senior Joint Convener Limon Mahmud Hasan, Jagannath University unit Convener Faisal Murad, Dhaka College unit Convener Afzal Hossain, and Joint Member Secretary Mohammad Sakib.
They voiced full support for the Sumud Flotilla and solidarity with the Palestinian people. The rally was coordinated by spokesperson Ashrefa Khatun.
