Policeman injured in stabbing by miscreants at Jatrabari checkpost

A police constable was injured today (21 February) after being stabbed by unidentified attackers at a checkpost in the Kutubkhali Pocket Gate area under Jatrabari Police Station.
The injured officer, Md Shah Alam, 28, who is posted at Jatrabari Police Station, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital's emergency department by colleagues.
Shah Alam told reporters that he was on duty when two men carrying bags approached the checkpost. When he attempted to search the bags, they allegedly stabbed him in the neck with a sharp weapon before fleeing the scene.
Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the police camp at the hospital, confirmed the incident. He said Shah Alam was brought to the hospital around 4:45pm with a bleeding neck wound and is currently receiving treatment in the emergency operating theatre.
The incident has been reported to the relevant police station, and further investigation is underway, he said.
