Police respond to 999 call about clash between 2 groups in Adabor, officer gets hacked by ‘teen gang’

A police officer was injured in an attack by suspected teen gang members while responding to a 999 call about a clash between two groups in the capital's Adabor area in the early hours of today (2 September).
The injured officer has been identified as Md Al Amin, who sustained injuries after being hacked by the assailants. He was taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital around 1am for treatment.
Confirming the incident, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Tejgaon Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Ibne Mizan said the police were responding to a call made to the national emergency helpline 999 about a clash between two groups in the Sunibir Housing area in Adabor.
Upon arrival, the police patrol team was attacked. Officer Al Amin, who was near the vehicle at the time, was targeted and hacked by several individuals who quickly fled the scene. He was later rescued and taken to the hospital for medical attention.
