The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has added a new level of efficiency in investigating cases, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has said.

"In the investigation of cases, competitive conditions have been created between the various investigative agencies of the police, thereby increasing the quality of investigations," he added.

The IGP was speaking, as chief guest, at a views-exchange meeting regarding case investigation and overall activities at PBI headquarters on Sunday.

"Currently, 95% of the cases are being solved," he said.

PBI Chief (Additional IGP) Banaj Kumar Majumder highlighted the agency's success in various important cases, including the CR [complaint register] cases filed with court, which has been widely appreciated.

Presenting the overall proceedings, the PBI chief also stressed the urgency of research into the causes of child killings.

Among others, Additional IGP Md Kamrul Ahsan also addressed the event.

Additional IGPs Mazharul Islam, Md Atiqul Islam and Abu Hasan Muhammad Tarique and DIG (Administration) Md Aminul Islam, DIG of PBI (West Zone) Miraj Uddin Ahmed and other officials of the police were present.
