Passengers at the Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka were in for a shock on Saturday (28 December) after the monitor displaying schedules suddenly started playing a pornographic film.

Irate passengers first tried to get the authorities to stop the movie from playing, failing which they pelted the screen with stones and broke it.

Confirming the matter, Station Master Shahadat Hossain said, "On 28 December, around 2am, a pornographic film suddenly started playing on the monitor."

He said passengers then broke it by throwing stones.

He couldn't confirm how the video was played, but suspected the screen may have been hacked.

Police, along with an IT expert, arrived and inspected the scene yesterday.

Earlier on 26 October, the words "Awami League Zindabad" were seen on the digital screen installed above the gate at the exit of the station, sparking outrage.
