One person was burnt to death while sleeping as a fire broke out at his house in Chattogram's Boalkhali last night.

The deceased is Nurul Azim. 

"On information, fire service units arrived at the spot at 1am," Deputy Assistant Director of Chittagong fire service Jasim Uddin said.

"Two fire service vehicles went to the spot and brought the blaze under control after one-hour effort," he added.

"According to family sources, other members of the house could get out, but Nurul got stuck there," Boalkhali police inspector Helal Uddin said.

His body was later recovered, he added.
