One dies while attending Khaleda's janaza at Manik Mia Avenue
The incident occurred on the western side of Manik Mia Avenue
One person died while attending the janaza of former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital this afternoon (31 December).
The deceased was identified as Nirob Hossain, a resident of Bauphal upazila in Patuakhali district.
Inspector Md Masud of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station confirmed the death, saying police had received information about the incident but could not provide further details at the time as officers were deployed on duty at the janaza.

The incident occurred on the western side of Manik Mia Avenue, where a large number of people had gathered to take part in the funeral prayers.
Sub-Inspector Md Sharif of the same police station also confirmed the identity of the deceased and said his family had been informed.
"I am at the scene. Details will be shared later," he said.
