Oil tanker train back on track after 11 hours of derailment in Ctg
The incident occurred last night (26 June) near the MBP Gate area and took nearly 11 hours to resolve

Four wagons of an oil-carrying train derailed in Chattogram city's Saltgola area, causing temporary disruption in fuel transport.
The incident occurred last night (26 June) near the MBP Gate area and took nearly 11 hours to resolve.
Mohammad Alauddin, station master of New Mooring Station, told The Business Standard that the train was heading from the Chittagong Goods Port Yard (CGPY) to oil depots in the city's New Mooring area when the derailment took place.
Four wagons suddenly veered off the track near Saltgola's MBP Gate. However, the wagons were empty at the time of the derailment, preventing any oil spill or injuries, Alauddin said.
Railway rescue teams worked through the night and successfully re-railed the wagons around 12:00pm today (27 June), resuming oil train operations later, he added.
The derailment was attributed to poor track conditions. Debris from drainage repairs and continuous water leakage from a nearby Wasa pipeline had rotted the old wooden sleepers beneath the tracks, weakening their structural integrity, railway sources said.
Earlier on 19 June, a fuel-carrying train derailed near a power station in Chattogram.
