Poet Habibullah Siraji passes away

Renowned poet Habibullah Siraji, director general of Bangla Academy, passed away on Monday.
He breathed his last at the Bangladesh Specialized Hospital of the capital.
His body will be taken to Bangla Academy premises today at 10 am to pay homage following the health guidelines.
After the first namaz-e-janaza there, he will then be taken to Azimpur graveyard where he will be buried after the second namaz-e-janaza.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has mourned and expressed profound sorrow at the death of the poet.
The press wing of the premier has issued a statement in this regard today.
"Habibullah Siraji will be remembered for upholding the spirit of Liberation War and progressiveness through his poems and works," said Sheikh Hasina.
The prime minister prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
