Kaarina Kaisar laid to rest in Munshiganj

Content creator and actress Kaarina Kaisar was laid to rest at her maternal grandparents' homestead in Munshiganj's Gazaria upazila this morning (18 May).
The 30-year-old, who was the daughter of former national football team star Kaisar Hamid and granddaughter of renowned chess player Rani Hamid, passed away on Friday night (15 May) while undergoing treatment at Christian Medical College Hospital in Vellore, Chennai.
A flight carrying her remains landed at Dhaka airport yesterday afternoon.
Her body was brought from Dhaka to the Abdullahpur area of Vabarchar union via ambulance at around 7am.
Following a namaz-e-janaza at 8am in the courtyard of the homestead, she was buried.
According to family members, Kaarina initially developed a fever before doctors detected a bodily infection, with subsequent complications from hepatitis A and E leading to liver failure.
After her condition deteriorated at a private hospital in Dhaka, where she was placed on life support, she was flown to India by air ambulance on 11 May for advanced treatment.
While doctors in Chennai were making preparations for a liver transplant, her condition worsened.
Her blood pressure dropped suddenly while doctors were administering antibiotics for her lungs, rendering all medical efforts unsuccessful.
Widely recognised for her engaging social media presence, Kaarina had recently expanded her career into acting and scriptwriting, contributing to notable productions such as "Internship" and "36-24-36".
Following the news of her demise, colleagues and fans flooded social media platforms with expressions of grief and condolences.
