The Network for International Law Students (NILS) Chittagong University Chapter successfully concluded the fifth season of its Weekly Skill Development Project with a grand closing ceremony at the University of Chittagong yesterday (4 March).
The event marked a significant milestone in the chapter's continuous efforts to equip legal aspirants with essential professional skills.
The two-month-long programme, which began in January, featured a series of skill-enhancing sessions tailored for law students. Participants received hands-on training in anchoring, presentation, graphic design, public speaking, poster creation, research methodology, article writing, and resume building under the guidance of experienced trainers.
This initiative played a crucial role in enhancing students' capabilities, creativity, and leadership qualities, helping them unlock their full potential, according to a press release.
The event was addressed by Dr Yeahia Akhter, Vice-Chairman of the University of Chittagong, as the chief guest. The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr Mohammad Shamim Uddin Khan, and Proctor Dr Tanvir Mohammad Hyder Arif attended as guests of honour.
Speaking at the event, Dr Yeahia Akhter underscored the importance of skill development initiatives in shaping students' futures. "Such skill enhancement projects will significantly contribute to furnishing students' bright futures," he said.
Rabbi Tawhid, president of the NILS CU Chapter, highlighted the programme's success, stating, "This initiative by NILS CU Chapter has not only improved participants' skills but also enriched their creativity, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. We hope that each session has opened new horizons of knowledge and experience for the students."
Itminan Monir Basilis, general secretary of the NILS CU Chapter, echoed similar sentiments, saying, "Our goal was to build a strong foundation for students through this programme, enabling them to showcase their capabilities in any field in the future. We are optimistic that we have successfully achieved this objective."
More than just a formal gathering, the closing ceremony was a celebration of learning and professional growth. The programme provided students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills applicable to real-world scenarios, making it a truly transformative experience for the participants.
