Murder accused escapes from police custody at Dhaka court
Shariful managed to escape while he was being taken back to the jail from the court around 11:30am

An accused in a murder case escaped from police custody after physically assaulting a police constable at a Dhaka court premises today (19 June).
The accused was Md Shariful Islam, son of Shafik Ahmed of Dinajpur upazila of the district.
Shariful managed to escape while he was being taken back to the jail from the court around 11:30am, said Sub-Inspector of Dhaka Metropolitan and Session Judge Court jail Md Ripon.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of DMP's prosecution division Main Uddin said that the accused was handcuffed at the time.
"He used a metal object to loosen the cuffs and managed to remove them. Later he beat the constable and fled. Legal step is underway," he said.
A case will be filed in this connection, he said.
Shariful was the chargesheeted accused in Jisan Hossain murder case filed with Khilgaon Police Station.
