Mujib Memorial Park opens in Gaibandha

Mujib memorial children park has been opened at Kholahati in the district town marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Whip of the Jatiya Sangshad and local lawmaker Mahabub Ara Begum Gini inaugurated the park on Wednesday afternoon.

With deputy commissioner Abdul Matin in the chair, the inaugural ceremony was attended by superintendent of police Towhidul Islam and general secretary of district Awami League Abu Bakar Siddique and executive engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board Mokhlasur Rahman.

Whip Mahabub Ara Begum Gini said initiatives have been taken to enhance the beauty on both sides of Ghagot River through establishment of various infrastructures so that the townspeople along the children could come here and pass their leisure times with enjoyment.

DC Abdul Matin said the park would play significant role in meeting the demand of the townspeople.

SP Towhidul Islam said tight security measures would be taken around the children park so that all visitors could move here easily and none could face untoward incident.

A large number of people from all walk of life, district level government officials, political leaders, elites and journalists were present on the occasion.
