Mother, child spot dead as bus runs them over after hitting motorcycle in Satkhira

A tragic road accident in Patkelghata, Satkhira, claimed the lives of a mother and her young child today (25 April).
The accident occurred around 12:30pm when a long-distance bus hit their motorcycle and ran them over. Two others were injured in the incident.
Patkelghata Police confirmed the accident and stated that an investigation is underway. Further legal steps are being taken regarding the incident.
The deceased have been identified as Rita Sadhu, 26, and her two-year old son Sourav Sadhu. Her husband, Apurba Sadhu, 35, and daughter, Sumi Sadhu, 5, sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment. The family hails from the Kapilmuni area of Khulna.
According to locals, the family was traveling on a motorcycle from Kapilmuni to their relatives' house in Sagardari, Keshabpur. While passing through Kumira in Patkelghata, a Satkhira-bound bus from Dhaka operated by Satkhira Line Paribahan hit them.
Witnesses said the bus first collided with the motorcycle as it was entering the Sagardari road. The impact threw all four family members onto the road. The bus did not stop and instead ran over Rita and her young son, killing them instantly under its front wheels.
