Mohakhali's Sattola Slum fire brought under control

A fire that broke out in Dhaka's Mohakhali Sattola Slum in the early hours of today (12 March) was brought under control after about two hours of relentless efforts.
Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell, said the fire broke out in the slum around 3:40am.
He added that five firefighting units were initially sent to the scene, and three more joined later to contain the blaze.
Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control around 5:20am.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be known yet.
