Missing teenage autorickshaw driver found dead, last passengers arrested on suspicion of murder

Police have recovered the body of a teenage autorickshaw driver named Rizwan from Nagarpara in Rajshahi city, 22 days after he went missing.
A team from Kashiadange Police Station recovered his body from a locked house in Nagarpara this afternoon (8 April) and handed it over to Damkura Police Station.
Damkura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rabiul Islam said Rizwan left his home with his autorickshaw on 17 March. He has been missing since then.
His family members, unable to find him, filed a general diary with the Damkura Police Station.
Later on 25 March, locals detained Rizwan's last passengers, Pappu and Piyas, and handed them over to the police station on suspicion of abducting the autorickshaw driver.
The police presented the arrested Pappu and Piyas to the court and applied for remand for questioning.
When the court granted a 3-day remand, on the first day of questioning, they confessed to the murder.
This afternoon, according to Pappu and Piyas' confession, the police recovered Rizwan's body from a locked room shown to them and sent it to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
"Pappu and Pias, along with their associates, who were arrested for stealing auto-rickshaw batteries, strangled the victim with a rope and smashed his face with a brick. Five people have been arrested in the incident. Preparations are underway to file a murder case," said OC Rabiul.
