Migration-oriented news portal, obhibashi.com, launched
A news portal, obhibashi.com, commenced its journey on 18 December with an aim to focus on the livelihood and struggles of Bangladeshi expatriates abroad and global migration issues.
Journalist Shoriful Islam, programme head of migration at Brac, inaugurated the launch of this news portal, which is the first of its kind in the country, according to a media statement issued on 28 December.
The launch ceremony was held virtually due to the current Covid-19 situation.

Murshida Tumpa, portal editor, completed her Honors and Master's degrees in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Rajshahi.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Shoriful Islam expressed his hope that this news portal would play a vital role in promoting key migration issues and in unearthing the problems faced by Bangladeshi expatriates overseas.
