Metro rail authorities urge passengers not to be worried about safety
"The metro rail is operating in accordance with all prescribed safety regulations," said DMTCL
The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has urged passengers not to be worried about safety while using the service, assuring that all necessary measures are in place to ensure safe and smooth operations.
"The metro rail is operating in accordance with all prescribed safety regulations. Therefore, passengers are specially requested not to be concerned about safety," according to a press release by DMTCL issued today (29 October).
The notice comes days after a load-bearing pad fell from a metro rail pillar, tragically killing a pedestrian named Abul Kalam on 26 October.
Following the accident, metro rail services were suspended from 12:30pm that day, before resuming partial operations at 3pm.
