Following her release from Kashimpur Women's Central Jail, actress Nusraat Faria took to Facebook today (20 May) to express her gratitude to all who stood by her after she was arrested and sent to jail in an attempted murder case.

"The past two days have been the hardest of my life. I was mentally shattered. However, during this time, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to those who stood by me constantly," Faria wrote on her official Facebook page at 4:23pm.

She said, "From my colleagues to everyone in the industry, even the ordinary people who spoke on my behalf, stood for justice, and supported me—I will always remember their love and support.

"If you hadn't been there for me, I might not have been able to return to you so quickly."

The actress extended special thanks to her colleagues in the media, saying, "I really needed their support. I'll always cherish the love you have shown me."

Earlier in the day, Nusraat Faria was released on bail from Kashimpur jail around 3:28pm.

Journalists who were gathered at the jail premises reported that she left quietly.

This morning, a Dhaka court granted bail to Nusraat, who was sent to jail yesterday (19 May) in connection with an attempted murder case, triggering widespread criticism from various quarters.

Yesterday, another Dhaka court of Metropolitan Magistrate Naznin Akter ordered Nusraat to be sent to prison and set 22 May for the hearing of the bail petition.

However, Nusraat's lawyer, Mohammad Iftekhar Hossain, was allowed to pursue bail for her this morning.
