Man arrested with posters, leaflets of banned Chhatra League

Police today (16 May) arrested a man along with posters and leaflets of the banned organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League during a drive in the capital's Banani.
The arrestee was identified as Md Ashik Tapedar, 24.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from Banani Police Station arrested him at around 4:30am from the area opposite the Naval Headquarters on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Road, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Media and Public Relations Division Deputy Commissioner NM Nasiruddin.

"Ashik and his associates were roaming around the area and nearby locations with the intention of distributing posters and leaflets of the banned organisation marking Sheikh Hasina's homecoming day tomorrow," he said.
He added that legal action against the arrested individual is underway.
