At least 20 injured in clash over drying jute stalks on road in Faridpur
The incident took place at Bajidadpur village under Shekhar union around 8:30am.

At least 20 people were injured in a clash between two groups in Faridpur's Boalmari upazila this morning (8 August) over placing bamboo poles to dry jute stalks on a road.
The incident took place at Bajidadpur village under Shekhar union around 8:30am.
Boalmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mahmudul Hasan told The Business Standard, "No written complaint had been filed as of evening. Legal action will be taken if a formal complaint is lodged."
According to locals and police sources, the clash stemmed from a long-standing dispute between the families of Nitish Kumar Bala, 55, and Jagdish Kumar Biswas, 60, over roadside land in front of their houses.
The conflict had gone through multiple arbitration meetings, with a boundary marker eventually installed to settle the matter. However, tensions reignited when Jagdish's group began placing bamboo poles on the road to dry jute stalks.
Nitish's men objected, triggering a violent clash.
Dr Sabrina Haque Rumpa, on duty at Boalmari Upazila Health Complex, told TBS that 17 injured people were treated, with seven transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
