Resort sealed, 18 held in Gazipur following alleged gang rape of model
According to the case statement, the victim, a model and actress from Mirpur in Dhaka, was lured to the resort on 21 September under the pretext of shooting a drama

A resort in Gazipur's Sreepur upazila has been sealed off and fined Tk2 lakh by a mobile court jointly operated by the upazila administration and police, following a case filed over the alleged gang rape of a model.
The raid was conducted at Rass Resort in Uttar Pelaid village of Telihati union today (27 September), after the model filed a case with Sreepur Police Station on 25 September.
During the operation, two women from Jashore and 16 resort staff were arrested. Police also seized foreign liquor and "materials used for immoral activities" from Room 103 of the resort, said Sreepur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Abdul Barek.
"The seized evidence confirmed that the resort was being used for anti-social activities, including bringing in women from different parts of the country," he said.
He added that efforts are underway to arrest the main accused, who are still at large.
Sreepur Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Saidul Islam, who led the mobile court, said the resort authorities failed to produce any valid documents or registration papers. "As a result, the resort has been fined Tk2 lakh and sealed temporarily," he added.
According to the case statement, the victim, a model and actress from Mirpur in Dhaka, was lured to the resort on 21 September under the pretext of shooting a drama. She was allegedly confined in a room and assaulted at around 3:30am by the drama director Nasir Uddin Masud (35), his associate Babor (32), and an unidentified man introduced as the resort owner, aged around 60.
The accused allegedly threatened to kill her with a broken glass bottle, beat and raped her. The following day, the trio reportedly took away her iPhone worth Tk2.4 lakh before forcing her to leave the resort.
The victim said she later attempted to file a case in Dhaka but was advised to lodge it in the jurisdiction where the incident occurred, which delayed the process. She has since undergone a medical examination.
"I was taken to the resort under false pretences, held captive, physically assaulted, and raped under death threats," the victim said in the case statement. "I want justice."
Meanwhile, when contacted, accused Nasir denied the allegations, claiming they had simply gone on a trip and that he was being "falsely implicated for blackmail."
