Lavrov meets Khalilur Rahman in New York
Lavrov expressed hope that the General Assembly’s work during the current session would be conducted professionally and without politicisation
Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and President of the UN General Assembly Khalilur Rahman met in New York on 23 September on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
The two sides held detailed discussions on issues on the session's agenda.
Lavrov expressed hope that the General Assembly's work during the current session would be conducted professionally and without politicisation, with the aim of collectively addressing global challenges and threats, the Russian Embassy in Dhaka said yesterday night (24 September).
They emphasised that the UN General Assembly remains the central and most representative forum for dialogue among states. In this context, they stressed the need to improve the atmosphere and restore mutually respectful dialogue within the body.
Lavrov wished Khalilur Rahman success in his important international role.
