Lack of precaution in transporting main reason behind explosion of over 100 LPG cylinders in B'baria: Explosives dept
The department has launched an investigation into the incidents of hundreds of LPG cylinders exploding and a truck fire in Brahmanbaria

Lack of precaution in transporting was the main reason behind the explosion of over 100 explosives in Brahmanbaria recently, the Explosives Department, Chattogram, said today (5 June).
The department has launched an investigation into the incidents of hundreds of LPG cylinders exploding and a truck fire in Brahmanbaria.
Investigation Officer SM Sakhawat Hossain, an assistant explosive inspector, inspected the accident site in the Birasar area of the district town and the cylinder godown in the Madhyapara area.
"Necessary precautions were not taken in transporting the gas cylinders. Since there were potholes on the road, the truck driver needed to be more aware. Initially, it is believed that the explosion occurred due to gas leakage in the cylinder due to the pressure of the truck overturning," he said today.
The investigation report will be submitted immediately after Eid, he added.
Earlier, yesterday (4 June), at around 4am, a truck loaded with hundreds of LPG cylinders fell into a ditch on the Comilla-Sylhet highway in the Birasar bus stand area and overturned. The cylinders exploded and the truck caught fire.
A microbus behind the truck was also burned to ashes in the fire.
In addition, 4 shops adjacent to the highway and an electrical transformer were damaged in the fire.
