Khaleda Zia stable but not out of danger: BNP leader Khokon
No decision had been made on taking Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, currently under intensive monitoring by doctors at Dhaka's Evercare Hospital, is stable but still not out of danger, BNP Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon has said.
Speaking to journalists in front of the hospital at around 12:30pm today (29 November), Khokon said Khaleda Zia's condition had not improved.
"She is still not out of danger. It cannot be said that she is out of danger. The previous condition remains unchanged. She is in a stable condition but has not improved yet. The doctors can provide more detail on this matter," he said.
He noted that the medical board was continuing its efforts.
The medical board is trying its best to cure her. We are hopeful that she will recover quickly."
On the possibility of taking Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment, Khokon said no decision had been made.
The matter of taking her abroad is still not clear to us. It depends on her physical condition. Our medical team will make the decision," he added.
Since this morning, BNP leaders, activists and supporters have been gathering in front of Evercare Hospital in Bashundhara Residential Area after hearing about her condition.
