The government is set to begin operations of the new July uprising directorate this month with 33 cadre and non-cadre officials.
According to the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, the directorate will work on various aspects of the 2024 mass uprising, including assisting the families of martyrs and rehabilitation of the injured.
For the new directorate, the ministry today (6 February) proposed creating 33 positions under the revenue sector in its organisational structure.
The proposal is expected to be approved at a meeting, chaired by the cabinet secretary, on 10 February.
The meeting will also discuss several other proposals, including the establishment of a labour court in Mymensingh with forming eight temporary positions under the revenue sector, renaming the security officer position to assistant director in the organisational structure and recruitment regulations of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence.
Proposals also include upgrading or changing the designations of captain, commander (planning, admin and coordination division), commander (control division), and commander (material division) in the organisational structure of the Naval Base, Chattogram.
Additionally, the meeting will consider proposals to create three temporary positions in the revenue sector for the National Defense College, establish 35 permanent cadre positions for the Bangladesh Betar's Programme and Planning cell under the BCS Cadre (information), and create 30 supernumerary positions for additional directors and 25 for joint directors under the revenue sector of the National Security Intelligence.
