Jucsu polls results being delayed as part of conspiracy, says Shibir panel
Over 20 hours after polling ended in the Jucsu and hall union elections, vote counting is still underway.
The Shibir-backed "Sammilito Chhatra Jote" panel in the Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (Jucsu) and hall union polls has alleged that a conspiracy is underway to delay the announcement of the results.
At a press conference held today (12 September) afternoon, the panel's general secretary (GS) candidate Majharul Islam claimed that BNP-leaning professors Nazrul Islam and Mafrufi Sattar were behind the scheme, with support from the university administration.
"We will not tolerate any drama to suspend the results. Jucsu reflects the mandate of students, and no conspiracy against it will be accepted," Majharul said.
He warned that if the administration fails to publish the results by tonight, they would be forced to take a strong stance.
Majharul added, "No attempt to derail the election will succeed. If anyone tries to sabotage it, they will be resisted from this campus."
