Jucsu polls: Election commissioner terms process 'abnormal' as unofficial results emerge from 5 halls
The commissioner said the final results were expected to be announced later in the afternoon.

Jahangirnagar University Central Students' Union (Jucsu) Election Commissioner Mafruhi Sattar today (12 September) expressed deep concern over the ongoing election process, terming it "abnormal" after results of five hall union elections started surfacing on social media before the completion of the final vote counting.
"The situation is unusual. The role of the election commission is being questioned," he told reporters. "Who is discharging the duties of the commission? Who is publishing results on Facebook before the vote counting is even complete?"
He said the premature dissemination of results had cast doubt over the entire electoral process. "Personally, I find the entire situation abnormal. The credibility of the election is now under question," he added.
The commissioner said the final results were expected to be announced later in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, vote counting has been completed in 17 out of 21 residential halls. Unofficial results for five halls have already been announced, reportedly by polling agents, covering the posts of vice-president (VP), general secretary (GS), and assistant general secretary (AGS).
This year's Jucsu election saw 620 candidates vying for 340 positions in the central and hall unions.
Of the 315 hall posts, 131 candidates were elected unopposed, while 68 positions remain vacant.
In the central union, 177 candidates competed for 25 posts, including 132 male and 45 female students.
