A Jubo Dal activist was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Chattogram's Raozan yesterday evening (25 February).
The incident took place around 7:30pm at Olimiahhat Bazar in the East Gujra union, about 500 metres from the East Gujra Police Investigation Centre.
The deceased was identified as Muhammad Abdul Majid, 60, a resident of the area.
According to party sources, he was a worker of East Gujra Union Jubo Dal, reports Prothom Alo.
Sazedul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Raozan Police Station, told TBS that police were dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving the information and an investigation is underway.
"We are looking into the matter thoroughly. However, it is not yet clear who was behind the incident," he said.
