JU holds protest demanding justice for Osman Hadi
University unit General Secretary Nadia Rahman said, “The interim government has failed to deliver on its promises over the past one and a half years.”
Students of Jahangirnagar University staged a protest rally and sit-in demanding justice for the killing of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
National Chhatra Shakti's JU unit held the demonstration today (19 December) around 3:00pm in front of the university's main gate, adjacent to the Dhaka–Aricha highway.
University unit General Secretary Nadia Rahman said, "The interim government has failed to deliver on its promises over the past one and a half years."
Nadia Rahman alleged that structures of Awami and cultural fascism remain intact after the July Uprising, and claimed the attack on Hadi was carried out by Awami League-linked elements with backing from India.
University unit President Ziauddin criticised the interim government, saying repeated street protests demanding justice since the July Uprising have yielded no results. He said individuals involved in the July violence have taken refuge in India.
He also accused elements linked to the July attacks of continuing to conspire against student activists around the university campus, alleging that the university administration has also failed to take action against those responsible.
