The committee discussed the monthly honourarium of the freedom fighters and opined that as the honourarium is insufficient, it should be increased.

Members of the committee recommended increasing the monthly honourarium of the freedom fighters by Tk 8,000 to a total of Tk 20,000 so that they could live comfortably.

The meeting decided to issue a letter to be signed by the secretary to use the word 'Bir' before the name of FFs to all organizations having contact with FFs including Bangladesh Bank.

Besides, a three-member probe committee was formed with Shajahan Khan as the convener and Kazi Firoz Rashid and Moslem Uddin Ahmed as members of the committee to verify written allegations submitted to the parliamentary committee against some activities of the Muktijoddha Kallyan Trust.

The meeting was informed that the Jatiya Muktijoddha Council has cancelled registration of some organizations involved in irregularities and corruption in the name of FFs.

The meeting also decided to name roads at their respective areas after the heroic freedom fighters as they are the best children of the nation.

Secretary of the ministry and officials concerned were present at the meeting.
