Different Journalist organisations are holding protest rally in front of National Press Club against harassment on Prothom Alo Senior Reporter Rozina Islam at the secretariat by officials of Health Ministry on Monday.

Journalists gathered in front of the press club on Wednesday morning and formed human chain under different organizations including BFUJ ( Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalist), Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF), Bangladesh Photo Journalist Association and Rangpur Divisional Journalist Association (RDJA).

They demanded immediate release of Rozina Islam.

Besides, they urged to government for the punishment of the accused people.

Rozina was kept confined at the health ministry for more than five hours on Monday before being handed over to police.

Later, she was shown arrested in the case on charges of spiriting away "important" documents.

Investigative journalist Rozina, known for dozens of ground-breaking reports in her career, was charged with breaching the Official Secrets Act 1923.

Rozina Islam is known for her strong reportage of official corruption. She has recently made several investigative reports revealing corruptions in the health sector.
